Entertain me Vegas...

I'm leaving for Vegas in a couple days and sadly this might likely be my only winter "vacation" this season if you call Friday to Sunday a "vacation", never mind that Vegas is freezing ass currently. (I already live in the North Pole and now I'm traveling 1031 miles/1659 kilometers straight south for more cold weather? Srsly weather gods?)

I'll be fine, I'll just console myself with fabulous retail shopping and massive portions of food while dining out.
Ha! God bless America.
So as you can tell the 10 lb. rapid weight loss plan didn't really come together since I'm already talking about Vegas food binges, though I have been trying to eat well for the last few days. Honestly!

We're going again because Husband is on business at the huge CES Consumer Electronics show. So basically Vegas will be a techie-geek-mecca while we're there. And since I only pretend to be interested in the tech show (for Husbands benefit) I'll be spending my time in Nordstrom or the outlet malls.

I've been to Vegas plenty of times but I can't help but feel I might be missing out on something while shopping the whole time. We always try to maximize our time there by getting tickets to a show, dinner in a great restaurant or two and always a night out at a club but what else is there to do? (I realize that sounds like a ridic question...) And we only ever seem to go for around 3 days so I suppose the tour of the Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon is a no go (as much fun as that sounds...)

I'm NOT a gambling woman so the casino is out. Money should only be spent on a sure thing like shoes! I cannot handle losing things. Especially money.
{boring?}

So tell me lovely readers, what do you recommend doing in Vegas?
 I only have a weekend, and I'll likely be by myself most of the time (sounds like a blast right?)
 Lay your ideas on me, what do you like to do while in Vegas? What's fun, interesting, exciting,,,even if it's all a bit cheesy. It is Vegas after all.
I'm up for anything (minus male strippers, that's no fun going to alone. So I hear.)

{not this time thanks}

LOL @ The Thunder Down Under!

My hubby and I love going to the wax museum, shopping at Caesar's Palace, and hitting up comedy shows! If you get a chance to see The Blue Man Group, I highly recommend it.

My husband likes to play poker, but I'm too scared to do it at a casino. LOL!

Have fun!

I am not a gambler either! I hate spending money and not getting anything in return! I have been to Vegas several times and I highly recommend you see Le Reve at the Wynn! Awesome show!
I don't know how many of the hotels/casinos you have seen but I spent almost an entire day going from one hotel to another just so I could see different themes!
I also love sitting in the Bellagio piano bar and people watching!
Have a great time! Also, Emeril's restaurant in the Venetian is fantastic!!!

Went for the 1st time last May, highlights: Fountains at the Bellagio, Cirque show 'O' at Bellagio, drinks at the center bar at the Wynn (you can see the lit waterfall there at night), shopping & more shopping. For a change of pace the Mirage has a dolphin & wildlife habitat that is great...have a fabulous time!

Hmmm...well I like to play the slot machines and go to the pool when I'm there in the summer but since that's out I say shop, eat and walk around. Oh, and go see Cirque's 'Viva Elvis' show, it's amazing! You could also try a cardio strip class, I'm sure Vegas has VERY talented instructors!He he Have fun!

I grew up in Las Vegas and still have family there. I don't gamble either so when I go, I like walking the Strip, checking out the casinos, people watching and shopping. It's good exercise for burning off those buffet calories. The hotels look like they're right next to each other, but they're really quite a hike!

Mount Charleston is a little village in the mountains above Vegas. There's a cute lodge where you can sit around a big fire and have a drink or something to eat. There is most likely some snow up there in January - you could even go skiing or snowboarding. The lodge/restaurant was pretty dated the last time I was there...but I think it's still a fun place to go.

FInally, I would visit the spa at your hotel - or another hotel. My husband and I usually stay at Mandalay Bay. We buy a spa pass for the day so we can work out (maybe), take a hot tub or sauna, and perhaps get a spa treatment.

Have a great time and please take lots of photos to show us!

The best thing to do is shop!! I liked Ceasars Place the best for shopping. We also saw a Cirq de Sole show that was great and the Blue Man Group was a fun show! Have a fabulous time and just pretend like you are gambling so you can get free drinks:)

For me all I like to do is shop, eat and lay by the pool when it's warm. We did see Le Reve at The Wynn, it was really cool. I am not a gambler either.... such a waist to me unless you are a high roller and have tons of money to throw around. I went to Hoover Dam when I was a kid and I remember it being a snore.

Maybe a spa treatment? Seriously you stumped me. What in the world could be better than shopping? Have fun and show us the goods when you get back!
