I haven't spent much time talking about the ongoing "Massive Weight Loss 2010." As always, "massive" is a huge misnomer but I'd like to think that big titles will equal big results?! I got my starve on before we left for Greece this summer but after that I've kinda been in a holding pattern as far as working out and eating really "clean" are concerned. Well no more friends. It's time to get crack-a-lackin' (again) and get my derriere back to the gym (consistently, no, once a week isn't good enough.)
Turkey fest Thanksgiving, and candy binge Halloween are behind us and there's honestly not a lot going on in November so what better time then now to work on my fitness? My pre-New Years resolution is to do my darnedest to not gain a mountain of el-bees over the Christmas season. And if anything, by creating a buffer of sorts now (fitness and weight-wise) then I can deal with the inevitable indulgences (read: chocolate, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, egg-nog) that are coming my way next month while still fitting into any dresses I may want to wear to Christmas parties. (Currently my calendar is open and I'm accepting party invites, feel free to send them my way...)
Lets talk strategy...
{80's aerobics? No, no leotards necessary. I'm talking about working out at the gym 3+ times a week}
+
{Salads salads and more salads. Insert fork here}
+
{No devil foods}
=
{Things I'd like to wear for the many many parties I'll be attending. Cuz I'm popular like that...?}
What are your plans/stategy for handling the deliciousness and indulgence that comes with the Holiday season??

I'm right there with you! Not only did I just come back from 20 days of eating pizza, pasta and pastries (and wine, champagne and more champagne) in Italy and France, I have a 16 year old who has buckets of candy from Halloween that she likes to keep in our pantry. At eye level.
I told her today that that crap needs find a good hiding place - somewhere I won't look, like next to the vacuum.
You have motivated and reminded me to go to the gym, eat cleaner and get ready for the dreaded holidays.
Thank you!
I'm STILL indulging in Halloween treats! My coworkers at the office keep bringing in leftovers every single day. Have you ever tried Pilates? I've found it's the best way to lose weight and get toned the fastest. (I used to be thirty twenty five pounds heavier.)I'm partial because I'm a certified instructor but I swear it changes your body! Good luck with whatever route you decide to go with!
ha ha I just realized I wrote "thirty twenty five," I did lose thirty but gained five back so twenty it is ; )
HAHAHAHA!!!! I just read that last line as I am dogging french onion dip and a big bag of chips while reading this!!!!!!!!!!
I'm pregnant through this year's holiday season... but in past years I've avoided over-munching at parties by slowly sipping on a glass of wine throughout the night. (The key is SLOWLY sipping, so one or two glasses lasts all night - plus it keeps your hands busy and away from the food :)
I usually allow myself to pack on a bit of "winter weight" as I like to call it.. But come March, I'm hard core getting ready for bikini season like it's nobody's biznezz!
watch your mouth! taco bell is NOT devil food.
okay...maybe it is. haha.
damn!
Since I do all the shopping and there are no children in my house, it's pretty easy to keep the bad snack food out of here. Plus, I don't have any devil food within miles and miles from me (but I'm drooling for a little Taco Bell right now).
But, it's the damn baguettes and cheese I have a problem with. Must. Say. No.
haha I agree with you on exercising! I stoped over the past 2 months because of all the events going on like October fest, halloween, fashion week etc but now I'm back to working out again! My thighs feel so sore last week when it was my first time hitting the gym in 2 months!
going to the gym and making healthy food take some time, but I'm trying too! Thinking of the cute outfits should be good motivation!
XOXO
It really is all about just getting your bum to the gym and eating salads like you said.
I've already started with the egg nog unfortunately :*( .. hahah and wine and pizza and Mcds ... it's just hard! haha.
I love those dresses you posted, they look like some are from Bebe?
Hope your week is goign good and have a good holiday tomorrow =)
I totally need to reign myself in. I've been exercising, but I've been totally eating like crap. Ugh. I need to buy a NYE dress to keep me in check. HA!
Fast food is SO the devil. I agree w/ you 100% on that one. It's so easy and convenient, it's such a trap! Yikes!
Good luck and I'm going to follow your progress!!! I'm sure you are fab w/out the weight loss, but I totally understand the feeling of wanting to shed some pounds.
I swear by Jenny Craig. But that's b/c I'm lazy and can't count calories for myself!! I've gone off and on Jenny a couple times now and it always helps to drop the pounds. The problem is I go back to my evil eating ways and gain most of it back. :-)
I'm not waiting until bikini season. Come January, my ass is getting on a treadmill every day.
Oooh I truly wish you the best of luck this month with the weight loss! Lord knows how long I've been trying and I know how difficult it is...especially when everyone around you is obsessed with the devil's food. Hehe. ;)
I am into a gym mood the last 3 months, and I already see the results! Keep going, we'll look amazing in Christmas time!
