I'm in love with the top-knot/bun hairstyle that's so popular right now. It's quick, fun and still manages to look put together and chic. No wonder half of Hollywood is using this as their go-to red carpet up do.
Sadly the hair-gods always let me down and once again I'm faced with a cute look that I can't really pull off because my hair is so thin. Boo to fine hair.
I've tried backcombing and twisting my hair to make it appear fuller but usually my completed bun looks more like donut-hole than an actual donut.

so im totally in LOVE with this trend, but unfortunately my short hair doesnt get quite up like those ones do!!! :( boooo
im rockin the thin hair too :( but I do love this look!
My hair is to short for a bun now... but OMG, I need to be paid for that bun design thingy....
When I was in high school, we loved wearing messy buns! SO... we'd cut the toe off a tube sock, roll it down out leg, and slip it off. You'll get the same exact donut shape as that hair thing!! {maybe I should blog about this, HA!} try to find a sock that's close to your hair color. ie. black/brown for your darker hair. tan for your lighter hair, etc.
Put your hair in a pony tail, slip the sock on and secure hair in place w/ bobby pins. Easy as pie!
i love every item in that last photo of the outfit ensemble. unfortunately, (in my experience) that type of dress only works on skinny-minnies and when i try it on, i look like i'm wearing a frumpy muumuu.
You could try a clip on ponytail that matches your hair color...you could get one at a beauty supply store. My hair is really fine but there's so much of it that it looks thick. But now that it's shorter I'm not sure if I could rock this look!
LOVE these buns !!! Everyone under the sun was rocking them in Europe and my hair wouldn't cooperate either. They look so good though!
Oh cool! I was just wondering how they got big buns {not like the kind I carry around on my arse} like that! Thanks for the tip. If I find em, I'll send you one.
The bun is my FAVORITE hairstyle; I wear it to work every day!
When my hair was long, I totally rocked the top-knot donut hole...I would've killed for the pot scrubber. But, alas, my hair is too short for that look now.
However, those wedges you pictured, I can totally rock now! Do tell who/what they are :)
I have a ton of hair and never know what to do with it. I'm so bad at fixing my own hair. I might have to pick one up and give it a try.
Hi! I just came across your blog via love jenny xoxo. :)
I'm with you, I'm absolutely in love with the topknot style!! I can't really pull it off either, though. My hair is super thick and super long, so the 'knot' would be like a second head! lol!
But, i've definitely seen others pull it off, even those with thin hair. just look at the runway models! It looks awesome on hilary duff and vanessa hudgens. :)
I'm following & I hope you'll follow back! :)

Whenever I wear my hair like this (which is often) my husband always calls it, 'my mushroom'. I love my mushroom! xo
Love that long dress look !!! my hair is to short for a bun I'm going to have to be happy with my back bun hahah lolol
I am in LOVE with the bun look, classy and sassy!! I need to try one of those bun makers, but I'm always afraid that stuff wont work on my hair!! And love the ensemble you put together at the end!! FAB!!
After watching BerlinHairBaby´s youtube tutorial I got me a bun shaper on ebay. I love it! Look at LC, wowza.
I love the ensemble you put together, I think I´ll shop my closet and wear something similar for Luke´s football game today ;)!

k you don't need that dish scum cleaner...just throw your hair up in a ponytail, get yourself a good tease brush, tease like crazy and swirl your hair into a bun. then pin. ta-da! easy! i do it all the time.
these hairstyles are pretty but I am sooo bad at doing hair! sigh, one thing I need to work at to have pretty hairstyles like these ladies!
They look fabulous!

I know I am obsessed with it too, good taste lady:-)
Pssst I have a question, the hubby and I are headed out for a couple weeks here soon and I am asking a few of my long time fave blog friends to guest post . . . any interest? :-)
My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net from
PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs.
But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress
on various websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to
another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.
net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it?
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
